The Federal Trade Commission, antitrust investigation, expanding there will now be looking at Google

Earlier this week Google says it will use the contacts, and post pictures from Google + to provide what was described as a more personalized search. Users will see the content after they enter a search term, but can opt out of service by changing the settings of the search.

The changes sparked criticism that the company, which handles nearly seven in 10 search requests, is to give greater choice to own the top social networks like Facebook and Twitter competitors.

Similar concerns have been voiced by a competing site travel and consumer groups who say the company uses a unique status as a gateway to Web users to promote its own map, travel, videos and other services. Google has emerged as the largest target due to the high tech antitrust officials went after Microsoft antitrust in the late 1990s.
