Hospital CEO says mistakes 1 too many

Mayo Clinic health systems at the Albert Lea reported an “adverse health event” by 2011, according to a report released Thursday morning by the Ministry of health, Minnesota.

In particular, a doctor at a local medical center an object on the left of the patient. However, the report said it did not cause death or serious injury.

Dr. Mark Ciota, chief executive officer at the Mayo Clinic health system in Albert Lea, said he was disappointed when the hospital even had only one. The hospital has zero years ago.

“We must remember that these statistics are real people, people who we fail, and I apologize for that,” said Ciota.

He said the patients improved in condition. He said a similar object in a Cotton Towel size and feel with a handkerchief.
